A Sobering Look at Treatment Effectiveness of Military-Related Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

Approximately two thirds of veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) remain the following treatment. Pinpointing per-symptom effectiveness treatments in real-world clinical settings can highlight relevant domains for treatment augmentation and development. Baseline posttreatment assessments PTSD depression were performed 709 PTSD. remission was 39.4%. Treatment least effective intrusion symptoms had no effect on flashbacks or poor recall traumatic features. Of who remitted, 72.8% still met diagnostic criteria at one cluster. Poor noted depression; only 4.1% patients remitted Treatments show limited overall settings. Enhancing response may require enhancing provider fidelity patient compliance extant development new that specifically target do not respond well to treatments.
